Portable IT devices such as laptops, smart phones and computer tablets are becoming ever more ubiquitous. At the same time, the population of the Western world is growing older, with aging bringing about changes with regards to individuals' physical and mental capabilities. These facts raises important questions about how well suited these devices are for use by elderly people. This study focuses on the cognitive aspects of the devices' usability, using the concept of Mental models to analyze the users' understanding of a computer tablet. It also draws upon theory of graphical user interfaces in its analyses.

The purpose of this thesis has been to explore the topic of business simulation from a theoretical foundation in social constructivism and theories concerning leadership as the management of meaning. The most important findings are that business simulation can be used for strategical leadership by management to create a common vision in the organisation members, which affects their perception of the business and the decisions and actions they make, which in turn can lead to a more efficient organisation that becomes better at meeting set goals. This can be viewed in different ways from different theoretical viewpoints: as inducing targeted changes in Mental models to create changes in decision making and actions; as a secondary socialization process where the vision of management is externalized as a business simulation that is in turn internalized by the organisation members that participate in the business simulation, or as a way to frame and define the reality of the organisational members which creates a shared reference point against which a feeling of organisation and direction can emerge. In the future, business simulations may become increasingly used by organizations to create a common vision or to communicate a new decision to the organization members..

In this paper we examine the view of mental illness is in a male dominated organization and what strategies are used to handle mental illness by the organization and the individual. We conduct semi structured qualitative interviews with persons who have in some way been in contact with mental illness within the organisation, we then encode our material from a themed analysis. We analyze the material and illustrate our problem area on the basis of Erving Goffmans theories of interaction and on R.W. Connells theory of hegemonic masculinity. We also show how previous studies of how men seek help for mental illness can help to enlighten our research area.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mental illness and socioeconomic factors such as education, age and gender among drug users. Descriptive and ANOVA analysis were performed to 68 structured interviews (Addiction Severity Index basic). Analysis addressed associations between drug usage and level of education, age and gender. Results showed gender differences in self-rated mental health with women drug users rating their mental health lower than men. In addition, there was no association between age, educational level and self-rated mental health.

We have by Statistics Sweden (SCB) been given the task of using different dynamic regression models in order to forecast service price index for sea transport. The aim is to see whether these models provide better forecasts than those previously used. This essay aim to identify, estimate and evaluate the selected prediction models. Through our data material we were given access to 28 sightings of sea transport index during the period of 2004 q1 to 2010 q4. We have chosen to evaluate three different transfer function models, one ARIMA model and one naive forecasting model. The input variables we decided to test in our transfer function models were the price of petroleum products, the port activity in Swedish ports and the lending rate of Swedish Central bank. The results of our study suggest that transfer function models generally provide better models than the ARIMA model and the naive forecast model.

Denna enkätstudie kartlägger hur individer resonerar kring mental träning utifrån deras idrottsliga bakgrund och erfarenheter. 91 kvinnor och 99 män i åldern 18 till 51 år deltog.

In this study, a small number of models, which contains solutions of how to organize work in Human Resources, have been selected. The author and scientist Dave Ulrich, who has had a large influence on the development of the work in Human Resources, originally founded these models.The aim of this study was to examine how these models were functioning, in reference to the different departments of Human Resources labor within the township of Uppsala.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka huruvida det finns ett samband mellan upplevt ledarskap, arbetstillfredsställelse och mental hälsa bland kyrkoherdar i Lunds stift. Ytterligare ett syfte med studien var att undersöka huruvida manliga och kvinnliga kyrkoherdar skiljer sig signifikant vad gäller upplevt ledarskap, arbetstillfredsställelse och mental hälsa. 41 kyrkoherdar från Lunds stift besvarade en enkät. Svarsfrekvensen var 82%. Upplevt ledarskap, arbetstillfredsställelse och mental hälsa mättes med hjälp av COPSOQ (Kristensen, 2001).
